Job summary

NAVY EXCHANGE SERVICE COMMAND (NEXCOM) seeks a front desk associate for Navy Gateway Inn & Suites and Navy Lodge properties in Port Hueneme. You will manage guest check-ins, answer questions, and fulfill special requests while ensuring guest safety and privacy.

This role requires overnight shifts and regular weekend/holiday coverage, with emphasis on professional guest relations, accurate billing, and efficient PMS use to secure reservations and payments.

Qualifications

• One 1 year of general office clerical experience that demonstrated the ability to perform clerical duties satisfactorily.
• One 1 year progressively responsible experience related to the position to be filled.
• Study completed in a college university or junior college above the high school level may be substituted on the basis of one-half academic year of study for 6 months of experience.

Responsibilities

• Welcomes guests and answers questions concerning lodging facilities, amenities and local attractions.
• Assists guests with reservations, payments, and check-in/check-out processes, including credit card processing.
• Greets and maintains outstanding guest relations and provides service with a positive attitude.
• Completes mandatory overnight shift training and fills schedule gaps due to call-outs or vacations.
• Uses the Property Management System (PMS) to access guest information and change or cancel reservations.
• Maintains security of guests and keys, balances accounts, and prepares end-of-shift reports.
