Job summary

Driftwood Hospitality Management is seeking an experienced HVAC / Maintenance Technician for a full-service hotel. The role requires hands-on troubleshooting of HVAC and refrigeration systems and proactive guest service across guest rooms, public areas, kitchens, and mechanical spaces.

The ideal candidate will diagnose problems, determine root causes, and perform repairs safely and efficiently while maintaining a professional demeanor and strong communication with guests and hotel leadership.

Qualifications

• HVAC/refrigeration troubleshooting and repair experience required.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting ability.
• EPA Section 608 Universal Certification (Refrigerant Recovery) - Current.
• Current Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification.
• Strong guest-service skills and a professional, positive attitude are required.
• Ability to communicate professionally with guests, hotel leadership, and fellow associates.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain HVAC and refrigeration equipment.
• Properly use and interpret a voltage meter/multimeter, amp probe, and refrigerant gauges.
• Understand refrigerant pressures, temperatures, superheat, and basic HVAC system diagnostics.
• Diagnose and replace HVAC components including compressors, filter driers, contactors, capacitors, motors, controls, and related components.
• Troubleshoot and repair walk-in coolers, reach-in coolers, under-counter refrigeration, and walk-in freezers.
• Troubleshoot electrical problems, trace circuits, and identify electrical faults.
• Perform plumbing repairs, including diagnosing leaks and soldering/sweating copper piping.
• Troubleshoot and repair commercial hot-water systems and water heaters.
• Perform general hotel maintenance repairs, including plumbing, electrical, drywall, mechanical equipment, guest-room systems, and other property maintenance needs.
• Respond promptly and professionally to maintenance requests from guests and hotel departments.
