Job summary
The Environmental Learning Center is seeking a part-time Guest Services Specialist to welcome visitors, process admissions, and guide guests in campus programming. The role includes assisting in the gift shop and maintaining the Welcome Center, with strong emphasis on customer service and member engagement.
Outbound duties include booking excursions, educating guests on offerings, and supporting weekend events; weekend/evening shifts may be required to accommodate special events.
Qualifications
- Welcomes guests and informs about campus activities.
- Handles admissions and cash transactions.
- Assists with gift shop and inventory management.
- Maintains Welcome Center cleanliness and order.
- Knowledge of ELC programming and events.
- Familiar with booking tours via FareHarbor.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests at the Welcome Center and inform them about activities.
- Receive admission fees and manage cash/credit card sales.
- Encourage membership and explain benefits and software used.
- Assist Nature Nook gift shop: inventory, pricing, stocking, POS entry.
- Monitor cleanliness of Welcome Center; perform daily cleaning.
- Book excursions and educate guests about pontoon and water trips.
- Explain programs and wellness offerings.
- Lead guided nature tours or assist with kayaking when needed.
