Job summary

Mohegan Sun is seeking a guest-focused server to deliver outstanding food and beverage service in assigned restaurant outlets or hotel rooms. You will take orders, enter them into the POS, upsell products, and coordinate all steps of service from setting the table to presenting and clearing items.

The role requires strong communication, knowledge of beverage guidelines, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with frequent interruptions.

Qualifications

• Previous guest service experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Thorough knowledge of operating policies (hours, menus, concepts)
• Good understanding of spirits, beer, wine, glassware, garnishes and beverage service techniques
• Skilled in proper tray handling
• Knowledge of food, sauces, dairy, meats, seafood, produce and desserts
• Thorough knowledge of POS system operations
• Knowledge of legal beverage service guidelines and liquor laws

Responsibilities

• Takes guest orders and enters them into the POS system
• Upsells products and uses endorsements at service opportunities
• Coordinates all food and beverage service at the table including pre-setting, serving and pre-bussing
• Handles payments per check tendering procedures
• Prepares and breaks down wait stations
• Delivers room service in hotel per steps of service
• Performs opening and closing duties
• Maintains cleanliness of the outlet
• Assists in setting tables for shifts and events
