Job summary

IHOP is seeking a friendly team member to provide prompt, courteous guest service, seat and assist guests, take orders, and ensure accurate remittance and smooth dining flow. You will memorize IHOP terminology, follow service guidelines, and maintain high cleanliness standards in a fast-paced setting.

Candidates should be able to read and understand instructions, communicate clearly, and apply basic math for guest checks.

Qualifications

• Prior experience or training desired but may not be required.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to read and speak English well enough to understand guest checks, read instructions, and communicate with guests.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• IHOP training course work as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and seat them, take orders, and deliver meals and remittance as needed.
• Maintain professional relationships with IHOP guests and staff.
• Follow Service Guidelines to ensure high-quality guest experience.
• Handle guest complaints professionally and invite them to return.
• Know IHOP terminology, abbreviations, and plating and menu knowledge.
• Follow SOP procedures for guest checks and banking.
