Job summary

IHOP is seeking staff to provide prompt and courteous service to guests, including greeting, seating, taking orders, and serving. You will manage guest checks, restock service areas, and maintain a clean dining area while adhering to IHOP SOPs and health guidelines.

The role requires understanding of IHOP terminology, excellent guest communication, and ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Training and scheduling will be provided by IHOP management.

Qualifications

• Reading and comprehension of instructions, correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to read and speak English well enough to understand guest checks and communicate with guests.
• Mathematical skills: add/subtract/multiply/divide with whole numbers, fractions and decimals.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions and solve problems.
• IHOP training coursework as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, efficient, courteous service to all guests.
• Greet, seat, take orders, and serve guests; manage remittance as required.
• Clear, clean, and reset tables and dining area per shift.
• Memorize and apply IHOP terminology and menu knowledge.
• Comply with SOP methods for guest checks and server banking.
• Stock and rotate needed supplies in service areas and dining room per shift.
• Follow local health, sanitation, and safety guidelines.
• Perform other assignments as directed by management.
