Job summary

IHOP in Elkhart, IN is seeking a service staff member to provide prompt and courteous guest experiences. You will greet and seat guests, take and serve orders, handle remittances, and maintain a clean dining area according to IHOP SOP and safety guidelines.

Flexibility to memorize IHOP terminology, eye for detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced restaurant environment are essential. Prior experience is helpful but not required; training is provided.

Qualifications

• Prior experience or training desired but may not be required.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions and memos.
• Ability to read and speak English well enough to understand guest checks and communicate with guests.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers, fractions and decimals.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, efficient, courteous service to all guests.
• Greet, seat, talk and serve orders; handle guest remittance as required.
• Clear dishes and reset tables; maintain cleanliness per SOP and guidelines.
• Memorize IHOP terminology and plating and menu knowledge.
• Comply with SOP methods for guest checks and banking procedures.
• Stock and rotate supplies in service areas and dining room per shift.
• Adhere to local health, sanitation and safety guidelines.
• Follow uniform and appearance standards and perform other tasks as assigned.
• Support the IHOP N Go program as assigned.
