Job summary

Westin Rancho Mirage Golf Resort & Spa is seeking a Rooms Controller to support daily Front Office operations and ensure optimal room readiness for guest arrivals. You will collaborate with Reservations, Front Desk, Housekeeping, and Engineering to execute accurate room assignments, manage early arrivals, and respond to special requests with calm, guest-focused stewardship.

Qualifications

• Prior hotel experience in Front Office, Rooms Control, or Reservations required; resort or full-service hotel experience strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of hotel operations, room inventory management, and guest flow coordination.
• Familiarity with Marriott Bonvoy or comparable loyalty programs preferred.
• Proven ability to deliver attentive, guest-centric service with a focus on anticipation and personalization.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills across all hotel departments.
• Proficiency with property management systems (PMS) and general hotel systems.
• Ability to problem-solve quickly, calmly, and effectively under pressure.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as business levels require.

Responsibilities

• Manage room inventory and assignments with accuracy to ensure all guest arrivals are thoughtfully prepared.
• Coordinate with Reservations, Front Desk, Housekeeping, and Engineering to align room readiness with arrival timelines.
• Assign rooms based on guest preferences, VIP status, loyalty recognition, and special requests.
• Proactively manage early arrivals, late departures, upgrades, and personalized guest experiences.
• Monitor room availability throughout the day to maintain optimal flow and operational efficiency.
• Conduct pre-arrival planning by reviewing occupancy forecasts, group blocks, and upcoming arrivals.
• Serve as a central communication point across departments to resolve room-related issues quickly.
