Job summary

Westin Rancho Mirage Golf Resort & Spa seeks a Rooms Controller to support daily hotel operations and deliver elevated guest experiences focused on renewal and well‑being.

You will manage room inventory, coordinate with Reservations, Front Desk, Housekeeping, and Engineering, and assign rooms based on guest preferences and loyalty programs. The role requires flexibility for varied shifts and a professional demeanor in a wellness-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Prior hotel experience in Front Office, Rooms Control, or Reservations required.
• Strong understanding of hotel operations, room inventory management, and guest flow coordination.
• Familiarity with Marriott Bonvoy or comparable loyalty programs preferred.
• Proven ability to deliver attentive, guest-centric service with a focus on anticipation and personalization.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills across all hotel departments.
• Proficiency with property management systems (PMS) and general hotel systems.
• Ability to problem-solve quickly, calmly, and effectively under pressure.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as business levels require.
• A professional, composed demeanor with a commitment to delivering elevated guest experiences.

Responsibilities

• Manage room inventory and assignments with accuracy to ensure all guest arrivals are prepared.
• Coordinate closely with Reservations, Front Desk, Housekeeping, and Engineering to align room readiness with arrival timelines.
• Assign rooms based on guest preferences, VIP status, loyalty recognition, and special requests.
• Proactively manage early arrivals, late departures, upgrades, and personalized guest experiences.
• Continuously monitor room availability throughout the day to maintain operational flow.
• Conduct thorough pre-arrival planning by reviewing occupancy forecasts and group blocks.
• Serve as a central communication point across departments to resolve room-related issues.
• Address maintenance needs, overbooking scenarios, and last-minute changes with calm problem solving.
