Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Verify demographics and perform patient searches to avoid duplicates.
• Provide questionnaires and forms per physician/provider protocols.
• Verify payment sources in EPM and ensure correct case built and attached.
• Run insurance eligibility checks and monitor lobby wait times.
• Maintain lobby cleanliness and remove inappropriate reading material.
• Schedule and cancel appointments per protocols; ensure timely arrivals.
• Run reports and manage appointments as applicable.
• Collect payments with proper codes and issue receipts; follow IDX Alert policy.
• Close batches before end of day and deposit as designated.
• Work location and hours may include weekends.

Summary/Objective

Enhances the guest experience by warmly welcoming individuals at registration desks, ensuring accurate verification of their address and phone number, and thoughtfully updating emergency contact information, including guarantor details and various addresses (e.g., seasonal, parents). Additionally, prioritizes the collection of Meaningful Use information to support comprehensive patient care.

Essential Functions

• Verifies demographics and performs a complete patient search to avoid duplicate patients.
• Provides questionnaires and/or appropriate forms to patients according to physician/provider protocols.
• Accurately verifies payment sources are entered into EPM including the appropriate case built and attached (i.e., liability, work comp, agency, grants, employer, legal). Accurately runs eligibility of insurances.
• Monitors lobby to ensure patients are not waiting excessive amounts of time and courteously advise patients of wait times when physicians/ providers run behind. Arrives patients in a timely manner.
• Monitors reading material maintained in lobby, removing any items with inappropriate content.
• Keep lobby neat and clean throughout the day.
• Schedules and cancels appointments accurately following physician, provider, desk and location protocols.
• Proportionately arrives and schedules appointments. Runs report sets as applicable.
• Collects payments using appropriate payment codes and issues receipts. Follows IDX Alert policy prior to scheduling appointment.
• Follows PFS collection comments. Closes batch accurately and prior to leaving for the day, depositing in designated area.
• Location and hours may vary to include weekends.

Requirements

Required Education and Experience: High school graduate or equivalent (GED).

Additional Eligibility Qualifications: 1+ years’ experience within medical/insurance environment preferred; Medical terminology and/or knowledge in the medical field; 2-3 years of customer service
