Job summary

Applebee's Neighborhood Grill + Bar in Southfield, MI is seeking a friendly host/hostess to warmly greet guests and seat them according to plans. You will help maintain guest flow and assist servers with basic duties to ensure a smooth dining experience.

Ideal candidates are team players with excellent customer service, flexible shifts (evenings/weekends), and the ability to stand for long periods. This is a front-of-house role focused on guest satisfaction and clean, safe seating areas.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to work as a TEAM.
• Friendly and outgoing personality.
• Follow appropriate food safety guidelines.
• Able to work a variety of shifts including evenings and weekends.
• Able to stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to transport and carry objects such as a high chair or booster seat.
• Ability to wipe, sweep and carry plates to kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Greet all guests as they enter and depart the restaurant and hold the door open for guests.
• Seat guests according to the established plan and guests’ needs.
• Keep host/hostess stand and waiting area clean.
• Ensure menu’s remain clean and stocked.
• Complete restroom checks and refill paper products in bathrooms, as needed.
• Sanitize and wipe down all tables and sweep the area as needed and resets the table.
• Assist the servers when needed by taking the initial drink order or running food to the guests in the dining room.
• Complete daily opening and closing work to ensure a clean and safe environment for guests and TEAM.
