Job summary

CHR is seeking an attentive host to lead the dining room experience in a refined setting. You will warmly greet guests, manage reservations, and coordinate seating to balance workload across servers while maintaining seamless service.

In this role, you will communicate with the kitchen and management to handle VIP arrivals and special requests, and ensure lobby and dining room ambiance meet high standards of presentation and atmosphere.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and professional demeanor in a fast-paced setting.
• Experience with restaurant POS and reservation systems.
• Ability to multitask and coordinate multiple guests and tasks.
• Attention to detail for VIPs, dietary notes, and seating plans.
• Present a polished appearance and high service standards.

Responsibilities

• Guest Reception: Warmly greeting guests upon entry and escorting them to their tables.
• Reservation Management: Managing the reservation system (OpenTable), including taking phone reservations and managing waitlists during peak times.
• Table Management: Strategically assigning tables to servers to ensure even distribution of workload and maintaining pacing in the dining room.
• Communication: Acting as the primary point of contact between the dining room, kitchen, and management to relay VIP arrivals, special requests, or potential delays.
• Setting the Ambiance: Monitoring the lobby and dining room environment, ensuring the entrance is clean, menus are tidy, and the music/lighting levels are appropriate.
