Job summary

Coury Hospitality is seeking a Host Person to greet guests, manage seating and reservations, and support the dining room team. You will balance the flow of guests, coordinate with servers and managers, answer phones, and maintain a warm, professional atmosphere at the host stand.

The role emphasizes guest service excellence, menu knowledge, and accurate waitlist management, with duties extending to assisting servers and maintaining cleanliness and uniform standards.

Qualifications

• Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Experience in guest service or hospitality preferred.
• Ability to manage waitlists and reservations with accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly and guide them to their seats, giving menus and server names.
• Manage reservations and the waitlist using OpenTable and daily book.
• Know menu items and daily specials to answer guest questions.
• Balance guest flow among stations and coordinate with servers and managers.
• Monitor dining room activity and keep a congenial atmosphere.
• Answer phone calls, take reservations, and relay messages.
• Handle guest service issues promptly and report to the Restaurant Manager on duty.
• Process table checks and operate the cash register per company policy.
• Maintain cleanliness of the host stand and surrounding area.
• Wear uniform and uphold grooming standards; communicate guest preferences to team.
• Support servers and bussers as needed to ensure smooth service.
