Job summary

The-Social-American-Tavern in Milwaukee is seeking a Restaurant Host / Food Runner who is energetic, dependable, and guest-focused. This dual-role position combines welcoming and seating guests with supporting the restaurant team to deliver an exceptional dining experience.

The ideal candidate is customer-service oriented, has a friendly personality, and can multitask in a fast-paced environment. Prior hospitality experience is appreciated, but training is available for the right attitude.

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and safely carry food and dining supplies.

Responsibilities

• Guest Experience & Hosting: Warmly greet and welcome every guest with a friendly, professional attitude.
• Manage guest seating and assist with restaurant reservations.
• Create a positive first impression and ensure guests feel welcomed and valued.
• Answer guest questions regarding the restaurant, menu, and hotel amenities.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting host stand and dining area.
• Assist with guest requests and help resolve concerns professionally.
• Food Running & Dining Room Support: Deliver food to guests promptly and accurately.
• Assist servers with clearing, cleaning, and resetting tables.
• Ensure tables are properly prepared and ready for incoming guests.
• Assist with water service and other guest needs throughout the dining experience.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the restaurant.
• Communicate effectively with servers, bartenders, and kitchen staff.
• Support the team during busy periods to ensure smooth and efficient service.
