Job summary

Paradies Lagardère in Boston seeks a Host to deliver first-class service, seat guests, and support front-of-house operations in a fast-paced restaurant. You will greet guests, manage waiting lists, answer questions about the menu, and coordinate seating with servers.

Responsibilities include assisting with to-go orders, maintaining a clean, safe host stand, and supporting staff during busy periods. A high school diploma is required; able to lift 25 lbs and stand for long periods.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Food and Beverage experience in a full service setting is preferred but not required.
• Ability to work in a high energy and demanding environment.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work independently as well as with other team members.
• Able to work unsupervised for extensive periods, and to demonstrate good judgment when dealing with customers and peers.

Responsibilities

• Seat guests, ensuring proper server rotation is maintained.
• Provide accurate wait time and monitor waiting lists.
• Use knowledge of menu to answer guest questions.
• Coordinate with Front of House staff regarding available seating.
• Process to-go orders quickly and efficiently in the point-of-sale system, handling cash, credit, and debit transaction accurately.
• Maintain store appearance with respect to merchandising and maintenance standards.
• Follow safety and sanitation guidelines; comply with all applicable laws.
• Assist servers and food runners, as needed. Must be able to maneuver heavy trays of food.
