Job summary

InterContinental Hotels Group is seeking a Front Desk Associate to welcome guests, check them in/out, and process payments accurately using established procedures. You will upsell rooms, provide information on hotel services and local attractions, answer phones, and coordinate with other departments to deliver exceptional guest experiences.

Requires a High School diploma, 1 year front desk experience, and fluent English; some college and additional languages are a plus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent, plus one year front desk/guest service experience.
• Some college preferred.
• Must speak fluent English. Other languages preferred.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests in a friendly, prompt and professional manner.
• Register guests, issue room keys, provide information on hotel services and room location.
• Answer phones in a prompt and courteous manner.
• Upsell rooms where possible to maximize hotel revenue.
• Process cash and credit card transactions accurately according to procedures.
• Manage deposits and cashier reports; count/securing assigned bank.
• Issue, control and release guest safe-deposit boxes.
• Communicate guest requests or issues to management for follow-up.
• Respond to guest complaints with service recovery gestures as needed.
• May book guest reservations by phone or from within the hotel; handle cancellations and updates.
• Promote teamwork and quality service through coordination with other departments.
• Perform other duties including tours, concierge services, and guest requests.
