Job summary

Clay is hiring a GTM Engineer to elevate top-of-funnel workflows and build automations that generate demand and surface in-market accounts. You’ll bridge GTM Engineering and Marketing, collaborating with Demand Gen, Lifecycle, and SDR teams to convert prospect data into proactive, measurable actions.

You will design systems with AI/automation, own end-to-end projects, and partner with GTM leaders to optimize the marketing funnel.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Marketing Ops/RevOps or GTM Engineering roles.

Responsibilities

• Build and own top-of-funnel workflow automations like lead and account scoring, intent and buying-signal detection, inbound enrichment and routing, speed-to-lead triggers, and proactive outbound plays off marketing signal.
• Partner with Demand Gen, Lifecycle Marketing, and SDR leadership to translate business needs into automation requirements and iterate based on feedback.
• Own the instrumentation behind MQL definitions and the marketing funnel; build the insight layer that shows what converts, where leads stall, which sources and campaigns produce real pipeline.
• Build the connective tissue between Marketing and SDRs; manage lifecycle and handoff logic, routing and assignment rules, follow-up SLAs, and feedback loops.
• Build tooling that surfaces the right account and prospect context for SDRs at the right moment; before first touch, during inbound follow-up, and ahead of campaigns and events.
• Push the limits of Clay and extend our platform into new use cases with AI and data; act as a practitioner evangelist of Clay GTM Engineering.
• Partner with GTM leaders to understand how demand motion works today and where it breaks.
• Own projects end-to-end from discovery to rollout, adoption, and iteration; automate, augment, or redesign workflows using AI and better systems design.
• Design systems that improve speed, visibility, data quality, and execution across the funnel; connect systems through APIs and integrations.
• Measure performance, adoption, and business impact of what you build, then improve it over time.
• Act as an internal thought partner on the future of AI-native GTM systems.
