Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an experienced engineer to design tooling and fixtures for the New Glenn Launch Vehicle, integrating mechanical design with manufacturing and test needs. You will apply ASME Y14.5 standards and lead cross‑functional teams to deliver robust tooling solutions.

Ideal candidates bring 10+ years in tooling for manufacturing, strong CAD and FEA skills, and a track record of taking products from development to rate production. This role requires onsite work and occasional travel.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years' design, build, and commissioning tooling and fixtures for manufacturing, assembly and test.
• Experience with FEM and complex structural analysis.
• Proven CAD-based design experience for modeling and drafting.
• Strong DFM/ DFA expertise for taking products to production.

Responsibilities

• Design tooling and equipment for production and integration of the New Glenn Launch Vehicle.
• Develop innovative tooling solutions using advanced manufacturing methods.
• Interpret and apply design and drafting standards (ASME Y14.5) in drawings.
• Coordinate with flight designers, manufacturing and integration engineers to optimize cradle-to-grave metrics.
• Manage projects from vendor selection to commissioning of custom tooling.
