Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an engineer to design, analyze, and release ground support equipment and tooling for the Engines, Lunar, and New Glenn programs. You will work with design teams to solve manufacturing and handling challenges across multiple hardware types, ensuring safe, reliable delivery of development and flight hardware.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of experience with tooling for manufacturing, strong CAD skills, and a solid grasp of DFx (DFM/DFA) and ASME Y14.5 standards.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience.
• 3+ years designing, building, and commissioning tooling for manufacturing, assembly, and test.
• Experience with FEM and structural analysis plus hand calculations (Freebody diagrams).
• Proven CAD-based design skills for modeling and drafting.

Responsibilities

• Design production, development, test, integration, and advanced tooling and equipment for multiple business units.
• Integrate mechanical design concepts across projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Interpret and apply CAD drafting standards (ASME Y14.5) for drawings.
• Address a wide range of tooling challenges including fixtures, material handlers, rotisseries, and test fixtures.
• Collaborate with designers and engineers to meet safety, cost, quality, and delivery goals.
• Manage projects including vendor selection, fabrication, inspection, installation, testing, and commissioning.
• Set and maintain schedules and budgets to ensure on-time completion.
