Job summary

Lidl US is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Weehawken, NJ to support the Store Manager, coach the store team, and uphold Lidl’s famed customer experience. You’ll take ownership of store performance and lead daily operations.

You’ll drive KPIs, oversee cash handling, stocking, and merchandising, and ensure a safe, productive workplace. This role requires 1–2 years of management or a bachelor’s degree, strong customer service, and physical stamina.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• 1–2 years of management experience or a bachelor’s degree.
• Determination to complete every to-do list on time, hit store targets, and maximize productivity.
• Experience in leading and developing a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent customer service skills, including de-escalation of tense situations.
• Readiness to participate in physical store operations daily (stocking, cleaning, ringing).
• Ability to lift over 50 pounds and reach above head heights.
• Ability to obtain and maintain ServSafe certification.

Responsibilities

• Lead and motivate the team to reach their full potential daily.
• Provide excellent customer service and be the main contact for customer needs.
• Monitor and drive improvements in store KPIs.
• Lead projects like weekly promotions and re-merchandising.
• Support cash handling, stock, cleaning, and other store tasks.
• Maintain a safe, productive work environment according to policies.
