Job summary

Valley Bank is seeking a Relationship Banker to drive branch growth by deepening existing relationships and acquiring new ones through proactive cross-selling and lead management. You will deliver outstanding service, educate customers on products, and support online/mobile banking adoption.

Ideal candidates have strong communication, customer service skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy and compliance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent; and minimum of one year experience in customer service, retail sales and service position with cash handling, or a similar role.
• Associates or Bachelors degree preferred in accounting, business, finance, economics or related field.
• FIS/IBS (Integrated Banking Solutions) knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Grow existing customer relationships and acquire new ones through sales and cross selling.
• Deliver exceptional customer service in alignment with the bank's mission.
• Maintain knowledge of bank products and services and educate customers.
• Present a confident, professional demeanor to establish trust.
• Meet with customers to conduct financial needs assessments and open new accounts.
• Discuss and sell loan products to customers as appropriate.
• Promote online and mobile banking capabilities.
• Assist management in coaching and mentoring branch staff; participate in referral process.
• Process customer transactions accurately with cash handling and teller equipment.
• Manage cash drawer, currency orders, and branch currency distribution.
• Participate in community events and CRA initiatives.
• Report significant matters to management and comply with regulations.
