Job summary

Valley Bank is seeking a Relationship Banker to grow our branch network by deepening existing client relationships and attracting new ones through proactive cross-selling and exceptional service. You will deliver tailored financial solutions while maintaining compliance and a professional, trustworthy presence.

You’ll engage customers with strong communication, knowledge of bank products, and a commitment to accurate needs assessments, online/mobile banking awareness, and community involvement.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; 1 year of business services experience in branch banking.
• Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred in accounting/finance/economics or related field.
• Experience with FIS/IBS (Integrated Banking Solutions) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Grow existing customer relationships and acquire new ones through consistent sales execution and proactive cross selling.
• Deliver exceptional customer service aligned with the bank's mission, engaging customers professionally.
• Maintain knowledge of all bank products and services and educate customers while cross-selling.
• Present a confident and professional demeanour to establish trust and identify customer needs.
• Meet with customers to conduct financial needs assessments, open new accounts (checking, savings, CDs, IRAs) and discuss/sell loan products.
• Demonstrates and promotes online and mobile banking capabilities.
• Manage sales referral process and assist management in coaching branch staff.
• Perform customer transactions efficiently, balance cash drawer, operate teller equipment.
• Serve as Vault Teller with currency and coin orders within limits.
• Participate in community events and CRA initiatives.
• Report significant matters to management and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Adhere to code of conduct and bank policies.
