Job summary

The Atlantic District in Forest, Virginia seeks a dynamic Principal General Agent to lead a Farmers agency, driving growth, operations and superior client service with a community-focused mindset.

You will mentor agents, shape sales strategy across Virginia, ensure compliance, and partner with carriers to provide competitive products while building a resilient, collaborative office culture. This leadership role rewards entrepreneurial energy and long-term team development.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Life and Health insurance license.
• Demonstrated history of building and managing high-performing sales teams.
• Deep understanding of the insurance landscape and regulatory environment.
• Strong public speaking and presentation abilities.
• Self-driven attitude with an entrepreneurial spirit.
• Previous experience in independent brokerage or agency management is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, train, and mentor a team of insurance agents to reach their full professional potential.
• Oversee the day-to-day sales operations to ensure we consistently meet our growth targets.
• Develop and execute strategic plans to expand our market footprint across Virginia.
• Collaborate with carrier partners to ensure our agents have access to the most competitive products available.
• Foster a supportive and collaborative office culture that encourages knowledge sharing and mutual success.
• Maintain high standards of compliance and ethics in all sales activities.
