Job summary

National Kidney Foundation is seeking a Director, Membership Growth and Engagement to own the strategy, performance, and member experience across the full member lifecycle. You will lead a two-person team and partner with education, advocacy, marketing, field offices, and scientific activities to drive growth and revenue.

The role requires a track record of measurable growth within medical or health professional communities, strong analytics, and expertise in association management systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent; Master's preferred.
• 7+ years in membership growth, engagement, retention, incl. 2+ years leading staff.
• Track record of growing membership and improving retention.
• Fluency in the full membership lifecycle and lifecycle marketing.
• Proficiency in AMS/CRM and marketing automation platforms.
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder skills.
• Experience collaborating across diverse internal/external teams.

Responsibilities

• Own NKF's professional membership growth strategy and annual plan with targets for acquisition, onboarding, engagement, renewal, and dues revenue.
• Define value proposition by segment and suggest dues structures to expand reach and revenue.
• Identify new growth channels including institutional and group memberships and partnerships.
• Monitor trends to inform strategy and position NKF competitively.
• Design an integrated lifecycle program from recruitment to renewal and reinstatement.
• Lead member engagement portfolio including exclusive content and NKF events; manage webinars and promotions.
• Establish a member listening system to continuously improve experience and loyalty.
• Oversee membership data integrity, reporting, and KPI dashboards; use analytics to identify growth opportunities.
