Replit is seeking a founding data scientist for the Growth team, shaping data-driven decisions across acquisition, activation, and recommender systems. You will own data science for major growth areas, partnering with PMs and engineers from problem framing through launch and readout.

You will design experiments with fast decision cycles, set metrics and guardrails, and apply quasi-experimental designs where needed to validate impact on retention and revenue.

Competenze

• 6+ years in data science with growth/experimentation for high-scale prosumer, PLG, or self-serve products.
• Experience at a fast-growing startup building metrics, datasets, and experimentation practices without extensive infrastructure.
• Expert SQL and Python.
• Proven track record of influencing senior Product and Engineering leaders.
• Heavy, practical use of AI tools to move faster in your own work.

Mansioni

• Own data science for major growth areas, partnering with PMs and engineers from problem framing and sizing through launch and readout.
• Design experiments and metrics that close gaps between short-term readouts and long-term retention and revenue.
• Set experimentation standards and guardrails for high-traffic surfaces.
• Use quasi-experimental designs (diff-in-diff, synthetic control, regression discontinuity) where randomization isn’t feasible.
• Define the data science behind personalization and recommendations workstreams: framing, offline and online evaluation, measuring incremental lift.
• Model the economics of a freemium, usage-based product: credit consumption, conversion, pricing effects on behavior.
• Develop user and project segmentation from behavioral and content signals (embeddings, clustering).
• Partner with Data Engineering on a shared metrics layer and experimentation tooling.
