Job summary

Temporal Technologies is seeking a Data Scientist to partner with Product Growth and Experimentation, driving PLG analytics from acquisition to expansion. You will build analytics frameworks, identify friction points in onboarding, and evaluate interventions using advanced causal methods.

You will translate results into practical product decisions and reusable data assets. The role requires strong statistics, SQL, Python, and comfort with evolving instrumentation.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in statistics and experimental design.
• Experience using product/behavior/event data to improve activation, engagement, retention, or expansion.
• Ability to work with small samples and imperfect control groups.
• Proven judgment in choosing methods that fit data and uncertainty.
• Proficiency in SQL and Python for analysis and automation.
• Experience building dashboards and analytical assets in BI tools.
• Familiarity with modern data platforms (BigQuery/Snowflake) and cloud storage.

Responsibilities

• Act as embedded Data partner to Product, Design, and Engineering to shape experiments.
• Build frameworks across the PLG journey from activation to expansion.
• Use funnel, cohort, journey analyses to identify friction and opportunities.
• Identify predictors of conversion, production readiness, churn, and success.
• Analyze feature adoption to recommend interventions for adoption and expansion.
• Design and evaluate experiments using appropriate causal methods when needed.
• Quantify uncertainty and clearly communicate results and recommendations.
• Help prioritize growth opportunities by impact and effort.
• Create reusable datasets, metrics, dashboards, and tools for cross-functional teams.
• Collaborate with Engineering/Data Engineering to improve instrumentation and data quality.
• Present findings with clear visuals and actionable narratives for technical and non-technical audiences.
