Job summary

Nelnet’s NextGen portfolio is seeking an experienced Group Product Manager to own one or more NextGen solutions—from discovery to delivery—while coaching a small team of PMs.

You will shape strategy across the portfolio, align across engineering, design, sales, and client support, and push for AI-enabled, data-driven improvements that reduce manual work for campus staff and improve student experiences.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of product management experience with a strong track record of shipping products yourself, including 1+ years mentoring or directly managing other Product Managers.
• Experience partnering with go‑to‑market teams to launch complex SaaS or platform products.
• Track record of personally shipping AI‑enabled or data‑driven software products with measurable business impact.
• Proven ability to align and influence stakeholders across engineering, design, and commercial functions.
• Experience in higher education technology, fintech, payments, or B2B2C platforms is a plus.
• Familiarity with platform modernization, replatforming or migrations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap across the NextGen portfolio and translate business goals into a sequenced plan.
• Identify opportunities to connect the portfolio through shared workflows, integrations, and data.
• Define success metrics across adoption, retention, and satisfaction and drive outcomes.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to plan launches that are market‑ready and easy to adopt.
