Job summary

Nelnet’s NextGen portfolio seeks a seasoned Group Product Manager to own one or more NextGen solutions end to end, from discovery to shipping, while growing a team of Product Managers and aligning with engineering, design, sales, and client support.

You will own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap across the portfolio, identify opportunities to integrate workflows and data, and push for AI-enabled improvements that reduce manual work for campus staff and students.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of product management experience with a strong track record of shipping products yourself, including 1+ years mentoring or directly managing other Product Managers.
• Experience partnering with go-to-market teams to launch complex SaaS or platform products.
• Track record of personally shipping AI-enabled or data-driven software products with measurable business impact.
• Proven ability to align and influence stakeholders across engineering, design, and commercial functions.

Responsibilities

• Hands-On Product Ownership: own one or more NextGen solutions end to end—discovery, requirements, prioritization, and collaboration with engineering and design.
• Team Leadership & Development: mentor and grow a small team of Product Managers and recruit talent as the team expands.
• Product Strategy & Execution: own the vision, strategy, and roadmap across the NextGen portfolio and translate goals into a sequenced plan.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: partner with sales, marketing, implementation, and client support to plan launches and ensure market readiness.
