Job summary

Nelnet and its NextGen portfolio seek a Group Product Manager to own one or more NextGen solutions end to end, from discovery through shipping, while leading a small team of Product Managers and shaping a cohesive product strategy.

You will partner with engineering, design, sales, and client support to deliver market-ready releases that meet regulatory and accessibility standards, with a focus on AI-enabled improvements for higher education workflows.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of product management experience with a strong track record of shipping products yourself.
• 1+ years mentoring or directly managing other Product Managers.
• Experience partnering with go-to-market teams to launch complex SaaS or platform products.
• Track record of shipping AI-enabled or data-driven software with measurable business impact.
• Proven ability to align and influence stakeholders across engineering, design, and commercial functions.

Responsibilities

• Own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap across the NextGen portfolio and translate goals into a sequenced plan.
• Lead, mentor, and grow a small team of Product Managers with clear expectations.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to plan launches and ensure market readiness and adoption.
• Collaborate with compliance, security, and risk to meet SOC, FERPA, accessibility, and regulations.
• Identify opportunities to connect portfolios and apply AI to reduce manual campus staff work.
