Job summary

Nelnet's NextGen portfolio is seeking a Group Product Manager to lead a small team of Product Managers and own one or more NextGen solutions from discovery to shipping. You will set product strategy and collaborate with engineering, design, sales, and client support to deliver value for colleges, administrators, and students.

You will drive AI-enabled initiatives, align stakeholders, and ensure releases meet regulatory standards.

Qualifications

6+ years of product management experience, including 1+ years mentoring or directly managing other Product Managers.
Experience shipping AI-enabled or data-driven software with measurable business impact.
Experience partnering with go-to-market teams to launch complex SaaS or platform products.
Proven ability to align and influence stakeholders across engineering, design, and commercial functions.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Finance, or a related field.

Responsibilities

Own one or more NextGen solutions end to end - running discovery, writing requirements, making prioritization calls, and partnering with engineering and design to ship.
Lead, mentor, and grow a small team of Product Managers, setting clear expectations and helping recruit talent.
Own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap across the NextGen portfolio, translating goals into a sequenced plan.
Collaborate with sales, marketing, implementation, and client support to plan launches and ensure market readiness.
Collaborate with compliance, security, and risk teams to meet SOC, FERPA, accessibility, and regulatory standards.
