Job summary

Greystar is seeking a Groundskeeper/Porter in Birmingham, AL to maintain grounds, amenities, and curb appeal. The role supports the service team and handles routine tasks including turnover, trash removal, and minor repairs, while ensuring safety and resident satisfaction.

Responsibilities include daily inspections, handling make-ready processes, and assisting with turn operations, with a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license to operate a golf cart on property.
• Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods and to bend, stoop, climb ladders, reach, carry objects.
• Able to work inside and outside in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Inspects the community daily to remove litter and debris in common areas and amenities.
• Clear vacant apartments before turnover and manage trash and storage areas.
• Assist with routine service requests and turn process with the community team.
• Change locks as required and ensure pool area gates meet safety standards.
• Distribute notices and communications to residents as needed.
• Report hazards or dangerous situations to supervisors promptly.
• Provide courteous customer service to residents and respond to maintenance complaints.
• Attend safety meetings and complete required OSHA and safety trainings.
