Job summary

Pike Electric, Inc. is hiring a Groundman in Texas to start a career in power grid construction and maintenance. You will report to the Foreman and support the line crews with preparatory and manual tasks.

This role requires physical stamina, willingness to travel, and the ability to work outdoors in all weather. Training is provided, with opportunities to grow into skilled lineman roles.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license; ability to obtain CDL within 60 days.
• Willingness to travel long distances on short notice.
• Lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Willing to work outside normal hours including weekends, holidays, emergencies, and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Perform new construction, maintenance and repair of de-energized powerlines with safety first.
• Assist install and repair overhead transmission lines, poles, insulators, conductors and related hardware.
• Perform heavy physical labor and regularly lift tools and equipment.
• Maintain company vehicles, equipment and tools in good working order.
• Work outdoors in varying environmental conditions and respond to outages or emergencies.
