Job summary

Pike Electric, LLC is seeking a Groundman to join our power grid construction and maintenance team. You will report to the Foreman and perform essential line work, safety-first responsibilities, and hands-on support for transmission projects.

The role involves outdoor labor, use of tools and equipment, and potential travel across states, including on-call rotations and overtime. We value safety, reliability, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver's License and ability to obtain a CDL within 60 days
• Willingness to travel long distances on short notice
• Lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
• Work extended periods at different job locations, including out-of-state assignments
• Willing to work outside normal hours, including weekends, holidays, emergency callouts, and overtime

Responsibilities

• Perform new construction, maintain and repair de-energized powerlines with safety first
• Help install and repair overhead transmission lines, poles, insulators, conductors and related hardware
• Perform rigorous physical labor and lift heavy tools and equipment
• Maintain company vehicles, equipment and tools in good working order
• Work outdoors in varying conditions including extreme heat, cold, rain, wind, and inclement weather
• Available to work outages, storms, emergencies including on-call rotation
• Inspect rubber goods and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Follow all safety protocols and wear PPE as required
