Job summary

Pike Electric, LLC is seeking a Groundman in Texas to begin a rewarding career in our power grid construction and maintenance teams. You will report to the Foreman and perform essential field tasks that support safe, reliable service to customers.

The role involves outdoor labor, operating with safety first, lifting up to 50 pounds, and traveling for outages or emergencies. Candidates must hold a valid driver's license and be willing to obtain a CDL within 60 days.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver's License and ability to obtain CDL within 60 days.
• Willingness to travel long distances on short notice.
• Lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Work for extended periods at different job locations, including out-of-state assignments.
• Willing to work outside of normal business hours, including weekends, holidays, emergency callouts, and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Perform new construction, maintain and repair de-energized powerlines safely.
• Help install and repair overhead transmission lines, poles, insulators, conductors and related hardware.
• Perform rigorous physical labor and lift heavy tools and equipment.
• Maintain company vehicles, equipment and tools in good work order.
• Work outdoors in varying environmental conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, wind, and inclement weather.
• Available to work outages, storms, emergencies including on call rotation.
• Inspect rubber goods and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Follow all safety protocols and understand when to wear Personal Protective Equipment.
