Job summary

Pike Electric LLC in Odessa, TX is seeking a Groundman to start a career in building and maintaining our power grid. You will report to the Foreman and perform essential outdoor labor, including installation and repair of overhead lines, while prioritizing safety.

This entry-level role requires a valid driver's license with the ability to obtain a CDL within 60 days, willingness to travel, and the stamina to lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver's License and ability to obtain a CDL within 60 days.
• Willingness to travel long distances on short notice.
• Lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Work outdoors in varying environmental conditions and extended hours.
• Commitment to safety protocols and PPE usage.

Responsibilities

• Perform new construction, maintain and repair de-energized powerlines while putting safety first.
• Help install and repair overhead transmission lines, poles, insulators, conductors and related hardware.
• Regularly lift heavy tools and equipment during tasks.
• Maintain company vehicles, equipment and tools in good work order.
• Work outdoors in varying environmental conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, wind, and inclement weather.
• Available to work outages, storms, emergencies including on call rotation.
• Inspect rubber goods and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Follow all safety protocols and understand when to wear PPE.
