Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Ground System Fluid/Mechanical Engineer II for the New Shepard program. You will design fluid and structural systems for ground test facilities, develop P&IDs and drawings, and support hazard analyses and design reviews in a fast-paced aerospace environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering as minimum requirement.
• Experience with fluid and mechanical systems in test environments (3+ years).
• Knowledge of ASME B31.3 and BPVC standards applicable to design work.
• Ability to create and interpret P&IDs and engineering drawings.
• U.S. citizenship or eligible to work in the U.S. is required.

Responsibilities

• Support design and development of fluid and mechanical systems for ground test facilities across lifecycle.
• Develop and release engineering deliverables including P&IDs, models, drawings, and eBOMs.
• Apply fluid mechanics and structural analysis to high-pressure gas and cryogenic systems.
• Design mechanical test fixtures and structural supports.
• Support hazard assessments such as PHA and HAZOPs.
• Participate in design reviews and PAR readiness activities.
• Coordinate with suppliers on technical requirements and track cost/schedule inputs.
• Support testing, passivation, and cleaning to IEST cleanliness standards.
• Maintain Windchill configuration management for engineering deliverables.
