Job summary

Blue Origin, Space Coast, Florida, is seeking a Ground System Fluid/Mechanical Engineer II to design and deliver test stand fluid and mechanical systems across the full lifecycle. You will develop P&IDs and drawings, support supplier coordination, and apply fluid mechanics and structural analysis to high‑pressure and cryogenic systems.

You'll contribute to system integration, reviews, and PAR readiness, with on‑site support during fabrication and commissioning.

Qualifications

  • BS in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Electrical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or process engineering roles.
  • Foundational knowledge of fluid mechanics, structural analysis, and system integration.
  • Knowledge of fluid system components including valves, regulators, and pumps for cryogenic, propellant, and high‑pressure gas.
  • Practical knowledge of piping system installation and fabrication methods.
  • Working knowledge of ASME B31.3 and BPVC standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and P&IDs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support design and development of fluid and mechanical systems for ground test facilities across lifecycle.
  • Develop and release engineering deliverables including P&IDs, models, drawings, eBOMs, analyses.
  • Apply fluid mechanics, structural analysis, and system integration to high‑pressure gas and cryogenic systems.
  • Design and develop mechanical test fixtures and structural supports.
  • Support hazard assessments including PHA and HAZOPs.
  • Participate in design reviews and PAR readiness activities including system walkdowns.
  • Coordinate with suppliers on technical requirements; track cost and schedule inputs.
  • Support testing, passivation, and cleaning to IEST cleanliness standards.
  • Apply ASME B31.3 and BPVC to design work.
  • Provide on‑site support during fabrication, installation, and start‑up of facilities or upgrades.
  • Identify and communicate technical, cost, and schedule risks to team/project lead.
  • Maintain configuration management of engineering deliverables in Windchill.
