Job summary

Blue Origin in Merritt Island, FL is seeking a Ground System Fluid/Mechanical Engineer II to design, test, and deliver fluid and structural systems for rocket engine test facilities. You will join a dynamic team developing test stands, coordinating with suppliers, and bringing systems from concept through commissioning.

You will apply fluid mechanics, structural analysis, and system integration to high‑pressure and cryogenic applications, under guidance from senior engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering.
• Foundational knowledge of fluid mechanics, structural analysis, and system integration.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of ASME B31.3 and BPVC; ability to interpret drawings and P&IDs.

Responsibilities

• Support design and development of fluid and mechanical systems for ground test facilities across the system lifecycle.
• Develop and release engineering deliverables including P&IDs, models, drawings, eBOMs, and analyses.
• Apply fluid mechanics, structural analysis, and system integration fundamentals to high‑pressure gas and cryogenic systems.
• Design and develop mechanical test fixtures and supports.
• Support hazard assessments (PHA/HAZOP) and participate in design reviews and PAR readiness.
