Job summary

Blue Origin in Merritt Island, FL, seeks a Ground System Fluid/Mechanical Engineer II to design fluid and mechanical systems for test facilities and to contribute to the full system lifecycle from concept to commissioning.

You will work under senior engineers on test stand design, supplier coordination, and the development of diagrams, models, and analyses for high‑pressure and cryogenic systems. A strong background in fluid mechanics and P&IDs is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in fluid systems, mechanical systems, or test operations.
• Foundational knowledge of fluid mechanics, structural analysis, and system integration.
• Knowledge of fluid system components including valves, regulators, and pumps for cryogenic, propellant, and high‑pressure gas applications.
• Experience with piping system fabrication methods and welding.
• Knowledge of ASME B31.3 and BPVC standards.
• Ability to create and interpret engineering drawings and P&IDs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support design and development of fluid and mechanical systems for ground test facilities across the lifecycle.
• Develop and release engineering deliverables including P&IDs, models, drawings, eBOMs, and analyses.
• Apply fluid mechanics, structural analysis, and system integration to high‑pressure, cryogenic, and propellant systems.
• Design and develop mechanical test fixtures and structural supports.
• Support hazard assessments (PHA/HAZOP) and design reviews.
• Coordinate with suppliers and track cost/schedule inputs.
