Job summary

Osmo, a digital olfaction company based in Elizabeth, NJ, is seeking a seasoned Quality Control leader to own the QC program from raw materials to finished fragrance.

You will build processes, lead a growing QC team, and work with Purchasing, Warehouse, Fragrance Development, Production, and the internal AI team.

The role requires 5+ years in fragrance QC, a strong nose for organoleptic evaluation, and a hands-on mindset to make real-time decisions in a fast-moving plant.

Qualifications

• Direct fragrance industry experience required.
• Ability to build or fix a QC process, not just operate inside one.
• Organoleptic evaluation skills for raw materials and finished goods.
• Independent decision-making in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with quality documentation, audits, and CAPA processes.

Responsibilities

• Own Raw Material Quality — judge results from automated testing and decide if an out-of-spec reading is a defect.
• Apply olfactive judgment to evaluate raw materials and finished goods.
• Protect Finished Goods Quality — run triangulation testing to confirm batches before shipment.
• Build the QC Program — design and continuously improve processes, documentation, and systems.
• Make real-time accept/reject calls and escalate only ambiguous cases.
• Fix gaps in current processes and drive corrective actions.
• Own investigations — lead root-cause analyses and corrective actions.
• Run the Lab — maintain lab docs, SOPs, and equipment calibration.
• Track Quality KPIs — monitor turnaround time and recurring issues.
• Build the Team — grow and lead a QC team as headcount increases.
• Partner Across the Floor — collaborate with Purchasing, Warehouse, Shipping/Receiving, Fragrance Development, Production, and AI team.
