Job summary

Osmo is seeking a Head of Quality Control to design and lead the QC program for raw materials and finished fragrances in our Elizabeth, NJ facility. You will own the quality lifecycle, from incoming materials to finished product, using trained nose judgment alongside automated testing.

You will build the QC function, set up processes and documentation, and drive root-cause investigations while collaborating with Purchasing, Production, and AI teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in fragrance QC required; 8–12 years ideal.
• Experience establishing or fixing a QC program.
• Ability to perform organoleptic and sensory evaluation of materials.
• Comfort with high-frequency accept/reject calls and real-time decisions.
• Knowledge of quality documentation, audits, and CAPA processes.

Responsibilities

• Own raw material quality checks and determine out-of-spec significance.
• Evaluate materials and finished goods using olfactive judgment.
• Run triangulation testing to confirm batch consistency before shipping.
• Design and continuously improve QC processes, docs, and systems.
• Make real-time accept/reject decisions with minimal escalation.
• Identify gaps and drive corrective actions in the QA workflow.
• Lead root cause investigations into non-conforming materials.
• Maintain lab documentation, SOPs, and equipment calibration.
• Track QC KPIs like turnaround time and recurring issues.
• Grow and lead a QC team as Osmo scales.
• Collaborate with Purchasing, Warehouse, Production, and R&D/AI teams.
