Job summary

Osmo, a fragrance-focused tech company, seeks a Head of Quality Control to own and build the QC program in our Elizabeth, NJ plant. You will judge raw materials and finished products with both analytical tests and trained olfactive judgment, ensuring only quality material reaches customers.

You will lead investigations, maintain lab documentation and calibrations, and drive CAPA actions while partnering with Purchasing, Warehouse, and AI teams on material decisions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in fragrance QC required; adjacent fields not eligible.
• builder of QC processes or programs preferred.
• Proven organoleptic evaluation skills for fragrance materials.
• Capable of rapid, independent accept/reject decisions.
• Familiar with quality documentation, audits and CAPA processes.

Responsibilities

• Own raw material quality judgments from testing results.
• Use olfactive evaluation to assess materials and finished goods.
• Protect finished goods quality with triangulation testing.
• Design and improve the QC program, docs, and systems.
• Make real-time accept/reject calls; escalate only truly ambiguous cases.
• Identify gaps and drive corrective actions.
• Lead investigations and root-cause analyses for non-conforming materials.
• Maintain lab SOPs, method records, calibration, and qualification.
• Track QC KPIs and report on turnaround time and issues.
• Build and grow a QC team as headcount expands.
• Collaborate with Purchasing, Warehouse, Production and AI teams.
