Job summary

Meijer, a family company, invites you to lead store teams in day-to-day operations with a focus on service, sales and store presentation.

You will mentor staff, manage staffing and hiring, oversee P&L and shrink control, and ensure adherence to company standards while delivering exceptional customer experience during peak hours. Strong leadership and communication are essential to drive growth and safety across the department.

Qualifications

• Retail operations experience is helpful.
• Ability to lead and develop team members.
• Strong communication and conflict resolution skills.
• Experience with staffing, hiring and performance management.
• Understanding of P&L and shrink control.
• Commitment to Meijer customer service standards.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and team members.
• Responsible for staffing, selection and hiring to achieve staffing needs.
• Promotes succession planning by providing career paths, identifying development needs and involvement in promotion decisions.
• Documents and applies disciplinary actions and makes discharge recommendations.
• Responsible for P&L, achieving sales and maintaining shrink for the department.
• Models exceptional, fast and friendly customer service.
• Communicates the Meijer Friendly Initiative in team meetings and conversations.
• Mentors and coaches the team to exceed customer service and sales goals and maintain Meijer standards.
• Ensures the team is trained in all aspects of their jobs and completed required training.
• Spends majority of time in-store communicating with customers and team members to ensure service quality.
• Promotes a safe work environment.
• Reliable and consistent attendance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
