Responsibilities

• Engaging peers to provide the best possible shopping experience including an exceptional checkout experience.
• Communicating with team members and assigning daily work tasks.
• Mentoring and coaching other team members to exceed customer service and sales goals.
• Supports training new team members and cross-training high-potential talent.
• Work with leadership on department scheduling to improve engagement, service, sales and profitability.
• Ensure product freshness by monitoring rotation and dating policies.
• Guide team in food safety compliance and safe work practices.
• Lead team to manage ordering, receiving, stocking, pricing, and display.
• Create an inclusive Meijer culture valuing diversity and inclusion.
• Operate a register and handle cash when needed.
• Operate powered equipment where applicable.
• Participate in period-end inventories to support goals.
• May act in Lead capacity in other departments.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
