Job summary

Hy-Vee, Inc. is seeking a Courtesy Clerk in Iowa to support customers from the register to their car and keep the store clean, stocked, and welcoming. You will package purchases, assist customers, and help maintain a positive shopping environment.

The role offers active, day-to-day work with a focus on customer service, teamwork, and flexibility across store operations. Training is provided, with an hourly wage and a friendly team atmosphere.

Qualifications

• No education or experience requirements; we will provide all the training you need to succeed.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service by greeting customers with a smile and learning their names.
• Package customer purchases and assist customers in transporting them to their mode of transportation.
• Bring carts in from the parking lot and cart corrals throughout your shift.
• Clean registers, restrooms, break room, and backroom, and sweep and mop floors as needed.
• Clean the can redemption area and empty recycle bins where applicable.
• Stock, face, and rotate merchandise, clean shelves, and know location of merchandise in store and backroom.
• Pull product forward on shelves to maintain a full, organized appearance.
• Check prices on products as needed.
• Maintain front end supplies including paper and plastic bags, receipt paper, and other items.
• Help train new courtesy clerks.
• Deliver product to customers and assist in all departments as requested within wage and hour guidelines.
• Shovel, salt, and sand walkways as needed.
• Work with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.
• Assist in other areas of the store as needed and take on special projects as assigned.
• Maintain strict adherence to personal hygiene, dress standards, and all Hy-Vee policies and store guidelines.
• Report to work when scheduled and on time.
