Job summary

Harris Teeter in Manassas, Virginia is seeking an Assistant Grocery Manager to help supervise the Grocery Department (and possibly HBC/GM). The role supports store leadership by planning, directing, and evaluating staff performance, with responsibility for up to 25 associates.

You’ll interview and train associates, handle performance feedback, and address issues to keep customer satisfaction high while upholding safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or 2–3 years related experience and/or training.
• Commitment to unparalleled customer service; excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to participate in and complete required training and to work with the team to increase customer satisfaction and sales.
• Complete Company training including new hire orientation, safety, and product knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Assist to manage and supervise up to 25 associates in the Grocery Department.
• May also be assigned responsibility for the HBC/GM Department.
• Assist in planning, directing, and evaluating the work of the departments.
• Interviewing and training associates; address complaints and resolve problems; and supervise according to policy.
