Job summary

Harris Teeter is seeking an Assistant Grocery Manager in Virginia Beach to lead a team in the Grocery Department, potentially overseeing the HBC/GM areas. You will help direct-store operations, support training, and maintain customer service standards in a fast-paced retail environment.

You will supervise up to 25 associates, participate in performance appraisals, and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards while delivering strong customer experiences.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED, or 2–3 years of related experience.
• Demonstrated commitment to exceptional customer service; strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to participate in and complete required training.
• Complete company training including new hire orientation, food sanitation, customer service network, safety, food safety, and product knowledge.

• Interviewing and training associates may be required.
• Plan, assign, and direct work to associates.
• Assist in appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining associates.
