Job summary

Moog in Buffalo, NY is seeking a skilled Grind Machinist for 2nd/3rd shift to manufacture high-precision components for mission-critical aerospace and defense programs. You will read blueprints, set up grinders, select wheels, and maintain tolerances while contributing to safety and quality on complex parts used in programs like F-35 and MQ-25.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• 1 year of Grind Machinist experience.
• Competency in reading and interpreting blueprints and written work instructions.
• Ability to select grinding wheels and dress wheels.
• Demonstrated ability to hold tight tolerances (.001 +/- .0005).

Responsibilities

• Work from blueprints, operation sheets and verbal instructions.
• Grind complex parts with tight tolerances and finish.
• Perform set-ups including chucking and aligning irregular shapes.
• Dress wheels for form, taper, steps and other contours.
• Inspect work and use gaging equipment to detect deviations.
• Participate in planning and problem solving within the cell.
