Moog in Buffalo, NY is seeking a Grind Machinist II (2nd shift) to manufacture high-precision components for defense programs. You will read blueprints, set up grinders, hold tight tolerances, and inspect parts using gages, with FAA Drug & Alcohol program participation required. A $3,500 sign-on bonus is available for eligible applicants.

Eligible candidates have 3+ years of grinding experience, strong measurement skills, and a HS diploma or GED. Onsite role with 10% shift differential.

Qualifikationen

• High School diploma or GED preferred. Otherwise, demonstrated ability to understand and apply all verbal, written and computer work instructions or training in English.
• At least 3 years of experience as a Grind Machinist.
• Proficiency using measuring equipment, including Micrometers, Calipers and Dial Bore Gauges.
• Competency in reading and interpreting blueprints and written work instructions.
• Ability to select grinding wheels, dress the wheel and run production parts per drawings.
• Demonstrated ability to hold tight tolerances, typically .001 +/- .0005, GD&T.
• FAA Drug & Alcohol Program participation is a requirement.

Aufgaben

• Work from blueprints, operation sheets and/or verbal instructions.
• Grind a wide variety of complex parts with close tolerances on grinders.
• Perform set-ups, including chucking, aligning irregular parts and wheel selection.
• Dress wheels for form, taper, steps, straight and unusual forms.
• Inspect all work with air gauges, diatest, V-blocks and profilometers.
• Participate in planning and problem solving within the Cell.
