Job summary

Eversource Energy is seeking an Associate Engineer to support the Distribution Management System (DMS) rollout and ongoing maintenance. The role collaborates with electric system operators, IT and engineering to optimize the distribution network, integrate new tools, and drive grid modernization initiatives.

Responsibilities include configuring DMS advanced applications, supporting AFR/LVM/DER forecasting, and engaging multiple states MA/CT/NH travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• 0-3 years related experience is required. Engineering design experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support the Company’s electric system operators by optimizing the distribution system with DMS functionality.
• Develop expertise in real-time system technologies (ADMS, SCADA, DER dispatching, energy storage, microgrids).
• Collaborate with operations, IT, and engineering to ensure DMS functionality and future enhancements.
• Support specification and configuration of DMS advanced applications (FLISR, LVM, AFR, Load/Generation Scheduling).
• Participate in technology option reviews for grid modernization and competitive procurement processes.
• Develop tools to process data from multiple sources for engineering models and databases.
• Coordinate with multiple internal teams across three states to implement grid modernization programs.
• Communicate grid modernization initiatives externally and participate in industry forums.
